Testing and calibration laboratories accreditation requires conformity with international standards EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Requirements for Test and calibration laboratory competence – and ISO 15189 – Special Requirements for Quality and Competence (medical laboratory only). This standard establishes management and technical requirements.
Accredited tests and calibrations ensure accurate and reliable results for a set of established tests, and ensure calibration is conducted in a reliable, competent, consistent and impartial manner and with the right accuracy.
In their daily lives, consumers rely on reliable analysis and testing such as food product testing (both from food manufacturing companies and catering companies), environmental testing, water quality testing, electrical equipment testing and medical diagnostic analysis. Accredited testing laboratory performs such analysis and tests in a reliable and consistent manner.
Measurement instruments manufacturers and service providers must be calibrated to enable correct measurement.
